A few people have asked recently if there are Straight Talk touch screen phones available with the two ST plans that a lot of people are talking about right now. At the moment, there are no Straight Talk touch screen phones available. Previously, the Samsung Finesse r810c, which does have a touch screen, was in the lineup and could be purchased on the website. But that phone was phased out even though it’s a fan favorite because the model was getting quite old. Pretty soon, we saw the Nokia E71 and Nokia 6790 phones come into play and they were selling pretty well for a few months. Now, however, those two smart phones are no longer being sold on the website. So at the moment–to answer those few readers question–no, there are no Straight Talk touch screen phones available. Man, we’ve come a long way. It seems like yesterday that Straight Talk released its very first Android smart phone for its prepaid unlimited plan. Then it released a second one and now a third. The third and newest Straight Talk Android phone is known as LG Optimus Black (you can see it to the left there). It’s got an amazing screen with gorgeous color, it has a very nice two camera set up (one on each side of the phone so you can take snaps and video and also have the convenience of video chatting).
The phone is one of my top prepaid phone selections for price and the fact that it’s a no-contract phone with an unlimited plan. ST has a very strong unlimited plan, which is partly the reason these Android phones work so well. If they did not have an unlimited plan, they would not be as efficient. I am one of the many who have been sucked in by the whole smart phone prepaid phone movement. Can you call it a movement? I think you can because it seems to be a pretty strong trend with companies like Straight Talk, MetroPCS, T-Mobile, and Virgin all releasing prepaid smart phones. And these are the kinds of phones that people are asking and actively looking for.
In short, people want the affordability of prepaid, but the quality of high end phones. That being said, there are some very nice non-smart phones available on prepaid plans–the kind of phone that sits between your normal everyday prepaid phone and the really high end smart phones.
