Straight Talk's New Android Phone is Out Now - Click Here!

There’s a new prepaid Android phone out on Straight Talk.  It’s the LG Optimus Black.  It has a beautiful touch screen, a 6 megapixel camera, fast web browser speeds, access to the Android Marketplace, and runs on an affordable unlimited prepaid plan.  This is a serious phone and a serious plan.  See if this phone is available in your area at StraightTalk.com

Updated 9/6/2011:  There is a brand new touch screen phone in town and it’s also Straight Talk’s first Android-powered cell phone.  It requires no contract (just like the other ST phones) and it does everything you expect a high performing Android 2.2 phone to do.  It is even less expensive than the other three non-android smart phones Straight Talk has in its stable.  Read a review of the Samsung Galaxy Precedent and see if it’s the right phone for you.  At $149 with no contract plus unlimited talk, text, web, 411, gps, it’s probably the best priced Straight Talk phone (for what you get) available right now.

Samsung Galaxy Precedent

You can get this phone at StraightTalk.com

A few people have asked recently if there are Straight Talk touch screen phones available with the two ST plans that a lot of people are talking about right now.  At the moment, there are no Straight Talk touch screen phones available.  Previously, the Samsung Finesse r810c, which does have a touch screen, was in the lineup and could be purchased on the website.  But that phone was phased out even though it’s a fan favorite because the model was getting quite old.  Pretty soon, we saw the Nokia E71 and Nokia 6790 phones come into play and they were selling pretty well for a few months.  Now, however, those two smart phones are no longer being sold on the website.  So at the moment–to answer those few readers question–no, there are no Straight Talk touch screen phones available.  This could, and hopefully will, change. See all the current phones available at StraightTalk.com.  A couple of the Samsung Straight Talk phones are very nice.  There are some affordable options and actually at least one phone available for free.

The Samsung Galaxy Precedent is available at a pretty low price and the lowest I’ve seen it yet.  It’s only $129 and it comes with the unlimited plan.  Learn more at the official site.  Another recent development is the ST simcards that allow you use third party phones like iPhone on the unlimited Straight Talk plan.

The Mystery Phone is Released

Update: The rumor mill does always seem to spin when a new phone release is imminent.  The latest Straight Talk Android phone to be released is the LG Optimus Black.  Many people thought the next Android phone for this wireless company was going to be the Optimus 2X, but it ended up being the Optimus Black.  It’s a very nice phone and is the best one Straight Talk has to offer right now–and probably the best it’s ever had.  See this new prepaid Android phone at StraightTalk.com

Smart Phone Rumors

There is a rumor circulating around the web about a new Straight Talk Nokia smart phone.  I don’t want to say too much about it because at this point it is somewhat unclear whether or not Straight Talk will be releasing a new smart phone, but suffice it so say that a lot of people would be happy if they did.  The previous smart phones from Straight Talk were the Nokia 6790 and Nokia E71, two well-received phones that were or course preceded by the Samsung Finesse r810c (one of the most beloved prepaid touch screen phones every).  We are waiting to see when this new phone comes out.  As soon as it does we will review it and let you know where you can buy it.  Stay tuned!  If you haven’t already read the first paragraph of this post, please do so now so you can learn about the brand new LG Android phone.

Two Other Android Phones

There are two other Android phones in addition to the Optimus Black.  You can find Samsung Precedent and LG Optimus Q online at StraightTalk.com

The Straight Talk Nokia E71 smart phone was released on the same day the Nokia 6790 was–both of these phones are smart phones with a lot of capability.  They surf the web, they allow you to access email, and they can both download apps (which is always a fun thing to do).  You have to love the fact that Straight Talk, a prepaid company, has two smart phones for use on its unlimited plan.  The unlimited plan gives you unlimited voice, text, and web browsing, not to mention free 411 and GPS.  These are all good features that you will get as part of the monthly fee.  My favorite thing about prepaid is that there is no contract, no credit check, no commitment.  Because there are none of these hassles, you also pay less–the company can afford to pay less.  Straight Talk is becoming one of the premiere prepaid companies this year.

The Nokia E71 smart phone for Straight Talk is the more serious of the two phones.  Maybe mature is the word I should use when describing this phone.  Nokia E71 has a look reminiscent of a BlackBerry–it’s the same shape and style of phone, with a large screen at the top of the phone and a good sized keyboard with an open face at the bottom.  Because the keyboard is right there in front of your eyes, it’s easy to send text messages, send emails, and browse the web, and bounce back and forth between the activities.  It resembles something like a business phone–and in fact, Straight Talk is probably a good option for small businesses.  Prepaid companies are starting to roll out some smart phones, but it’s pretty early on in that game.  The Nokia E71 and StraightTalk.com are a little bit ahead of the curve.
