Great review. Thanks for posting such an in depth impression. I’ve handled one in the store, but your review covered alot of ground that I couldn’t with such a limited amount of time. Based on my in-store experience and your review I think I’ll be waiting for a future generation to arrive. The potential is certainly there for this device, but based on my current portfolio of tech devices (laptop, desktop, iPhone, iTouch) I’m not sure this device quite justifies the expense at this time for me.

The Nokia 6790 and the Nokia E71 look like really great phones. I’m surprised they’re available on prepaid plans. I am stuck with a blackberry at the moment, but will think about this phone when I have to make a decision on getting a new phone very shortly.

Does this phone have threaded conversations like the iPhone? What do you think? I’m picky when it comes to things like this and I know that sometimes prepaid phones are cheaper so they don’t have all the goodies that other cell phones do have. I hope straight talk and metro pcs have these things.

Beau – The Nokia 6790 (at this point in time) only works with the Unlimited Straight Talk plan that costs $45 per month. But this is most likely the plan you would want with this phone since it grants you unlimited web access, talk time, texting, and 411.

nokia 6790 is maybe the best prepaid phone ever! It has a great look and style and I like how it is easy to type and send messages. definitely like this phone.
I’m going to buy the Samsung r355c phone with unlimited plan. It looks like it will suit all my needs, except I’m wondering if the web browsing will be any good. I don’t use the web that much with my phone, but straight talk seems to give unlimited use so now I might have to start using it more. Is the screen of the 355c too small for web browsing or will it give me what I need?

all i have to say is i love straight talk but im a little curiouse about some of the phones not working in my area….i have yet to find a zip code that the website says any of the smart phones or 3g phones work in….i have checked most major cities….i do love straight talk tho…cant beat the price…and the phones are suprisingly solid
I was considering this nokia smart phone as a potential replacement for my previous tmobile blackberry prepaid phone, but then I started looking at the Nokia e71 for Straight Talk and that really caught my eye. I thought about it, but then for some reason instead I bought the samsung r355c phone, which was a little less expensive at the deal I got it at a few months back. Still, I really like the straight talk service. It beats out tmobile and boost mobile by far.

The straight talk smartphones are not that expensive and they don’t come with a contract, which I like. The unlimited plan is a good one too, so it seems like a good match for me.
The Nokia 6790 is back online at StraightTalk.com. I have been waiting for this phone. I have the r355c right now by samsung, but this phone is the one I really wanted. Unfortunately, it was unavailable two months ago, so now I’m gonna give my current phone to my brother and get the 6790 with the unlimited plan I think.
Nokia 6790 wasn’t my first choice of straight talk phone. I wanted the samsung finesse, but it was discontinued. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I ended up liking this phone. Web browsing is sometimes slow, but the price is right and I get the unlimited plan.

The Nokia 6790 does come with the unlimited Straight Talk plan, which costs $45 per month. In fact, it’s the only plan the phone works with.
I bought the Nokia 6790 when it first was released on straight talk’s site after seeing a commercial for it. Needless to say, I’ve been very happy with it and have been using it for about a year. Now that I see it is re-released, I have recommended it to a couple people already.

I went with the nokia e71 because i didn’t want the slide out and it’s been a good choice for me. i manage two email accounts from the phone and hit the web whenever i need directions and maps or i use the voice guided gps which is a cool function i wasn’t expecting to be included with the phone. 45 dollar unlimited plan helps me too but sometimes i wonder if i need the unlimited or maybe just the 30 dollar plan would be good for me. but it’s really not that much of a difference in price and i know you have to use the unlimited straigth talk polan with this phone.
