Recently, new Nokia E5 Straight Talk smartphone has been added to the carrier’s lineup. It is the most advanced phone of all and is priced at $199.99 with no contract, same as other two smartphones available, Nokia E71 and 6790. However, Nokia E5 has more functionality to offer to the Straight Talk users than the other two smart phones, including Samsung T528G 3g touch screen phone also recently added, at affordable price of $45 per month for everything unlimited – talk, text and data.
The phone resembles Nokia E71 but is made of plastic opposite to E71 that is made of metal. That does give less elegant feel to the phone but overall, the Nokia E5 design is slim and attractive looking. On the other hand, the functionality of the phone makes you forget about other inferior specs. The phone features a 2.4? LCD display that supports 320 x 240 pixels (QVGA) resolution and up to 256,000 colors. A full QWERTY keyboard that is very comfortable for typing takes the rest of the phone’s front.
The Nokia E5 operates on Symbian 9.2 operating system. It has very friendly user interface. The phone can be customized by adding shortcuts that you use the most. You can add shortcuts of your favorite websites, social networking sites so that you can easily update your status.You can add music or anything you wish to have instant access to.
The Nokia E5 supports all types of staying in touch, whether it is with your loved ones or for work purposes. You can of course talk, send text or MMS picture messages. The phone supports multiple email accounts as Microsoft Outlook, Mail for Exchange, IBM Lotus Notes, Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail, AOL and MSN. There are also IM communities for chatting as Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, Google Talk and Ovi Chat.
Wherever you go, this GPS enabled phone can help you find your way with turn-by-turn voice instructions from Ovi Maps. However, a built-in app, Assisted-GPS receiver, locates your exact position.
The Nokia E5 supports fast 3g speeds as well as the WiFi connectivity. That is why Internet browsing is easy going. Therefore, with this phone you can actually watch YouTube videos, explore different websites and download apps, music, ringtones and more. You can also store some of that content to the phone’s 4GB microSD card that ships with the phone. By the way, the microSD card slot is expandable to maximum 32 GB of memory.
The Nokia E5 also includes 5.0 mega-pixel camera that takes great quality photos and quality videos.
